Session Description: What makes certain centres function more effectively, meet standards, provide the service needed for their clients and meet the expectations of the managers? Learn about creating Best Practices in your Centre, whether a front line employee, supervisor or manager. There are Applications to increase efficiencies, tools to measure performance standards and methods to provide added value to your clients, callers, employees and/or centres.

Speaker Bio: Karen Fry started her Fire Services career in 1999 as a dispatcher with the City of Nanaimo. She was promoted to Captain of Preplan and Informatics in 2003. In 2006 she accepted a position with the Surrey Fire Service where she holds the rank of Deputy Fire Chief. In her current position she oversees the Fire Communications Centre, which dispatches more than 60,000 incidents annually for 33 Fire Departments located throughout British Columbia. She currently sits on the ECOMM Fire Users Group Committee and BC E9-1-1 as the BC Fire Chiefs representative.
